Project Description
The Australian Heritage Homes team has a storied history in home design, with an abundance of experience in many different architectural styles. Think you have a crazy vision or a ridiculous request? Chances are good that we’ve heard it before. While we are grateful to the amazing competition that we have in the area, we’re attune that they’re not always able to meet the needs of our customers.
Today’s home is a great example. The owners were frustrated were their previous builder and requested our assistance in bringing their dream home to life. Luckily, we were able to sit down with the owners in a timely manner, and priced out the works at a much more cost-effective rate than the previous builder. The owners were pleased and we kicked work off right away.
The goal was a 36 square, double storey home on a steep site, sitting on a beautiful and rustic lot of Mt. Evelyn. Dotted with trees, the acreage is in abundance, offering a huge and beautiful blank slate on which we could build. We were working with a compressed timeline, given the owners’ previous experience. Luckily, we were able to select details and kick off work quickly, completing everything well within the requested timeframe.
We also built a special relationship with these owners, who wanted to oversee a number of different parts of the construction. In this way, they were able to put their own stamp of creativity and ownership on the future dream home in which they would build generations of memories with family and friends.
There were many special components. They included a large pool, an internal lift, and an extensive landscaping scheme. Inside you can find a theatre room, a huge family room, kitchen and meals, and a large office. Upstairs, the master bedroom has a full walkthrough robe and a large ensuite. The rooms boast glass balustrading and floor to ceiling tiling in all wet areas. In non-wet areas, floor boards decorate the family rooms, while you can find carpet in each and every bedroom. Other standouts include LED downlights, soft closing drawers and doors in the kitchen, fully ducted heating and refrigerated cooling, and flush panel, solid core doors with a high gloss finish.
We can’t forget about the panoramic views. A large upstairs balcony ensures a place to relax and enjoy the sunset at the end of a long day, while rear decking downstairs surrounds the in-ground pool.
With all of these unique and custom design features, we wanted to make sure that the owners felt safe and secure. We installed alarm and security systems, as well as high security inclusions. The final result was a home with which the owners are ecstatic, and ready to make dozens of memories.
