Let’s be honest… when you first purchase a property, the landscaping factors in a lot. It doesn’t matter if it’s a turnkey property, where all of the work is already done, or a location where you’re starting from scratch. You may have a vision, or you may be inspired by what’s already in place. Either way, you probably have a vision in mind and we want you to know that it’s easy to bring to life.
One of the biggest misconceptions when we work with prospective customers, is that they think that landscaping can only be achieved certain ways. They hesitate at moving forward with it, because they assume that it will cost an arm and a leg, as well as a significant time investment. This is especially problematic for those who live in smaller homes.
Here at Australian Heritage Homes, we’re in the business of making dreams come true, and that means opening doors to what you never thought was possible. You should be able to decide the size and shape of your home, it’s our job to make the right recommendations to ensure that you feel happy and comfortable in your home. That’s why we stood up this blog, after all. We’re here to share articles and information that’s entertaining and engaging and helps set you up for success!
Today, we’re not even looking at the inside of your home. We’re looking at the landscaping. How do you scale it, depending on the size of your home?
So, you live in a tiny house…
Well, you’re already set up for success! One of the many benefits of tiny houses is a contained environment, so you know the parameters of what you’re working with. You also get to be creative. Landscape up! Think vertical! Whether this is inside your property or outside on your deck or roof, be cognizant of using your space to showcase the plants and flowers that you love most.
So, you live in a town home…
This can be tricky, especially if you share walls with neighbors. First things first, have all of the right conversations. Ensure that there is nothing out of the ordinary that will throw your neighbors off, were giant Amazonian flowers to appear. This is still a good opportunity to ensure that your home feels unique and feels like YOURS! When you remain within the guidelines of your neighborhood association, you can have a lot of fun in your front area, in your window boxes, or on your front stoop and walkways.
So, you live in a property that feels overwhelming…
Congratulations! You chose a piece of land with a lot of opportunity. You know that you have an even bigger blank canvas and it’s yours to decide what to do with. Yes, that can feel like a lot, but the great thing here, is that you can make decisions over time. You can change your plants seasonally, build temporary structures as you see fit, the bottom line with all of these – have fun!
